YouTube Premium Raising Prices

YouTube Premium is raising its prices on all plans, and we’re not too happy about it.

  • YouTube Premium prices are going up.
  • We’re talking about the ad-free, download-everything plan.
  • Bummer news for your wallet!

We just saw some news that’s gonna make a lot of us groan. YouTube Premium is hiking its prices. Yep, for the first time since last year, they’re asking for more of our hard-earned cash. It’s like that moment when your favorite coffee shop suddenly adds a dollar to your usual latte. The vibe feels a little less cheerful, right?

So, the main plan, the one that lets you watch anything without ads and play videos in the background? That’s jumping up by $2. It’ll now cost $15.99 a month. Not a small jump, for sure. It’s like adding an extra layer to the visual aesthetic of your monthly budget – suddenly it looks a little more crowded.

And it’s not just the main plan. YouTube Premium Lite is also getting a bit pricier, going up by a dollar to $8.99. If you’re sharing the love (and the cost!) with a family plan, that one’s seeing the biggest bump. It’s going up by $4, making it $26.99 a month. Oof.

We get that YouTube is huge now. It’s a giant. But still!

Our Take

It’s always a bit of a bummer when prices go up, especially for things we use all the time. We’re hoping the extra money means even better content and features, but for now, it just feels like our streaming bills are getting a little heavier. Maybe it’s time to re-evaluate our subscriptions. What do you guys think?
