Gal Gadot’s New Movie: All That Running, For What?!

Gal Gadot looking determined and running on a London street.
  • What’s Gal Gadot doing now?
  • Our thoughts on ‘The Runner’.
  • Is it worth adding to your watch list?

Alright, team, we just finished watching Gal Gadot’s latest flick, ‘The Runner,’ on Amazon Prime. And wow, she gets her steps in!

Imagine sprinting across London, non-stop, to save your kid. That’s pretty much Gal Gadot’s workout routine in this movie. She’s a mother on a desperate rescue mission. A frantic journey.

The film is called ‘The Runner’ for a reason. Lots of running. Very energetic! The visual style uses quick cuts and tight shots, giving you that ‘frantic journey’ vibe right from the start. You really feel the urgency in those London streets.

It’s a Prime Original, so you can catch it easily. But here’s the thing. While Gal is amazing at looking determined and athletic, the story itself… well, it’s not super fresh. We’ve seen this setup before, right?

Super-parent-saves-child thrillers are a genre all their own. This one fits neatly into that box. You get the obstacles, the danger, the ticking clock. All the usual suspects are there. Hardly the first!

But despite all the running and the high-energy pace, we didn’t feel a big payoff. It felt a bit… uninspired. Like a great workout without the rewarding view at the end.

Our Take

Okay, so here’s our honest take. Gal Gadot works hard. She looks incredible doing all that running. Her commitment to the role is clear.

But ‘The Runner’ is just okay. It gives you some action, yes. But if you’re looking for a fresh, gripping story that stays with you? This might not be it. It’s a quick watch if you need something on in the background, but don’t expect to be blown away.
