Bruce Campbell is Officially Done Being Ash Williams!
- Ash is saying goodbye!
- What Bruce Campbell is doing next.
- Our thoughts on this news.
Okay, so we just saw this and had to share! Bruce Campbell, the guy who pretty much IS Ash Williams from Evil Dead, has said it loud and clear: he’s done with the character. No more Ash for him.
He mentioned in an interview that he didn’t want Ash to become a “borderline geezer.” You know, that feeling when a character gets too old to really be doing all those wild, Chainsaw-hand things?
It makes sense, right? We’ve seen him play Ash for decades, and honestly, the whole Evil Dead aesthetic is so gritty and raw. It’s got this wild, DIY vibe that just wouldn’t feel the same with an older Ash.
He had his own show, Ash vs Evil Dead, for three seasons, and that was a pretty epic run. Now, with a new Evil Dead trilogy happening, he’s letting everyone know he’s officially retired from playing Ash. He’s really “tapped out,” as he put it.
It’s a little sad to think about, but also kind of freeing? It means we can look forward to whatever Bruce Campbell decides to do next. Maybe something completely different! We’re always curious to see what artists like him come up with.
Our Take
We totally get where Bruce is coming from. It’s important for actors to know when it’s time to move on from a role, especially one that’s been such a huge part of their career. Ash is iconic, and it’s cool that Bruce wants to end the character’s story on a high note rather than letting it fizzle out. We’re excited to see what new adventures he embarks on, whether on screen or off!
